Bellwoods
Park House is located at 300 Shaw
Street, Toronto, Ontario, near the corner of Dundas Street
West and Ossington Avenue. The
32 fully-accessible one-bedroom and bachelor units accomodate
clients receiving Bellwoods Centres' 24-hour support services.
Rent is geared to income.
Services
such as personal grooming and hygiene, assistance with
eating and toileting, and housekeeping are available to clients
twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. In addition
to support
services, independent living educators are available to help
clients build
independent living skills.
Support services are
client-directed and assist clients to carry out the activities
of daily living as outlined in an individual support service
agreement and individual service plan.
Fourteen
of the units are dedicated to our Transitional Living Program. This program focusses on education
and training in areas such as cooking, self-directing care,
money management, computer skills, and
researching volunteer and employment opportunities. The program
is structured for both intensive individual and group
participation within a six to eighteen month period, generally
allowing for additional time and training.
A
resource centre with internet and e-mail access, a library
of software
programs,
assistive-devices, and
numerous resource materials on exercise and health, is available
to all Bellwoods' clients.
